How do you start with Air Miles? What are Air Miles? How do you collect them? What are Air Miles worth? Where can you go with Air Miles? It does seem a bit daunting to begin with, however it’s a great way to spend smarter and travel smarter.
What do we mean by Air Miles?
Okay, originally Air Miles were the currency of frequent flyers. They would earn these Air Miles when they flew with Airlines and then spend these Air Miles on further flights or flight upgrades.
Now though you don’t need to be a frequent flyer to earn Air Miles, or even an occasional flyer – Loyalty schemes like Avios from the British Airways executive Club and Virgin Points from Virgin mean we can earn and spend Air Miles on Flights, upgrades, holidays and pretty much anything you spend everyday.
Using Air Miles is one of the best ways to maximise value and maximise Joy. Find out how you can have use your miles to fly New York Virgin Upper Class or British Airways Business Class to Tokyo or San Francisco – it’s a fab way to save £1000’s.

Jordon Cox became known as Britains Coupon Kid after hitting the headlines for doing crazy things to save money. Like travelling from Sheffield to Essex via Berlin and getting £600 of shopping for 4p using coupons. He also recently earned enough Air Miles for a first class flight from one trip booking – impressive.

What about using flying club miles on another airline – eg ANA to Tokyo from London, I believe this is possible. but is it a good use of the miles?
Hi Mary, yes it is an option, and well worth looking at. You can use Avios and Virgin Miles on other Airlines. We wanted to use Virgin Miles (on ANA) for our Tokyo trip but availability was non existent and alot of miles needed, as we had the BA 241 voucher BA was a much better option. Thanks for comment, T🎈
