Have you got an imminent trip to Cyprus planned from the UK? Cyprus Health Ministry has revised its travel advice for passengers. What are the new rules? Will you still be taking your trip?
Please go to updated info on this post Can you still travel to Cyprus from the UK
The new rules, which come into force on Saturday March 14, place the UK in category 2 which requires self-isolation.
Category 2: Self-isolation under telephone monitoring at home or premises to be suggested by Health Ministry (restrict close contact and movement, keep basic rules of hygiene and monitor and report symptoms to the call centre 1420) for 14 days after their departure from: Countries including UK
Detailed instructions for people in quarantine or self-isolation can be found on: https://www.pio.gov.cy/coronavirus/.
Alternatively click here.
All passengers from the first two categories will be taken by immigration to the airports’ health office while at the ports they will remain in their cabins.
The instructions do not apply to passengers who have carried out transit flights, unless they stayed at the location.
We are supposed to be going to Cyprus in a few weeks. Flights were booked with Air Miles and accommodation and airport parking has free cancellation. So we won’t be out of pocket.
Do you know where you stand with bookings, cancellations and refunds?
Make sure you are aware of the booking flight and hotel separately need to knows and our guide to flight delays and cancellations.
After the recent collapse of Flybe and Airlines like Norweigan on the brink of collapse, be prepared and know where you stand.
We already have a summer trip to Cyprus booked. This one was just an extra one we squeezed in as it was too cheap not to – any excuse to get to Cyprus! There’s not many better places to spend 14 days self isolating though…it’s almost tempting.
It is looking like our New York trip will be cancelled too, gutted as this was a really special trip – booked for our 10th Wedding Anniversary and Upper Class on an A350. We won a holiday to New York in a competition and get married while we were out there. Yes people do win competitions, check out one of our favourite sites – Travelscoop, they have all the best travel competitions.
New York has declared a state of Emergency and all Broadway shows have been cancelled for 4 weeks. We are waiting to be contacted by Virgin, though again, the trip was booked with Virgin Miles and the hotel fully refundable. There’s no rush to contact them now – sure they are very busy helping Customers. Maybe we will rebook for Christmas time.
We may have a holiday at home, have a look at our video. How to have a weekend away, at home. Money saving and great fun. Yes you have to be a bit daft to do it but no point moping – make some #SmallJoy.
